Hardware - Recommended hardware requirements for running the CD ROM.

Installation

CD Serial Code: Located on your CD ROM case

Set Up and Installation – First Time

  1. Insert the CD
  2. Wait a few moments while the CD is read by your computer. (If your CD ROM is set for Auto Run, you will see an initial animation followed by some buttons that indicate choices to further explore the CD or to install/set up your course)
  3. If after several seconds you do NOT see the initial animation, double click the My Computer icon from your desktop
  4. Double click on the AIChE CD Icon
  5. Wait a few moments for the CD application to launch
  6. Click on the "Set Up" button
  7. Follow the installation instructions on the screen to complete the course set up.
  8. When the installation is complete, launch the course by double clicking on the AIChE Distillation In Practice Registration Icon contained in a new folder opened on your desktop. Or you can access the AIChE menu from the Start Menu.
  9. Fill in the registration information including the access code found on the CD
  10. Click on the Launch button from the Registration Confirmation Screen to start the course

 

Troubleshooting

Using the "Help" button on any of the Slide Screens will open a standard windows help application that should guide you through most of your questions. For those questions that cannot be answered, contact information follows:

CD Based Help: The CD Based Help application runs separately from the course and opens in a window over the course. The standard windows help application should guide you through most of your questions. It is interactive and has an index and search feature to get you where you need to go. Also, this help file can be opened from the CD without the Distillation in Practice course running. To access the CD Base Help files, double click on the Help.hlp file on the CD.
