Overview

Screen - The content for this CD is designed from bottom to top of a
distillation tower and CD learning should proceed in that fashion. You should start at
Skill Level 1 (Fundamentals) and progress through Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 before starting
Skill Level 2 (Practice), etc. Sections for each Chapter are shown on the right side of
the Content screen.
Organization - In outline view, the content hierarchy appears as
follows:
- Skill Level (Fundamentals, Practice, Advanced Topics)
- Chapters (1. Vapor Liquid Equilibria to 10. Azeotropic Distillation)
- Sections (Number Varies by Chapter)
- Page or Slide (Number Varies by Chapter)
Screen Navigation - When you hover the mouse over a tray inside the
Tower, the Sections for that Chapter will appear to the right of the Tower. You can move
the mouse over this Section text and click on one of the lines to navigate to the starting
Page for each Section. In addition, clicking on the "Course Mark" button will
take you to the last Chapter and Slide you visited prior to quitting the final session of
the CD.
Slide Screen

An audio controller will be available for each Slide Screen. The Slide will appear as a
PowerPoint style presentation on the content area of the Graphical User Interface. A Left
Slide menu will appear on the left and a Top Slide menu above the content area.
Slide Screen Navigation - The slide-to-slide navigation buttons appear
on the lower left side of the screen and will advance 1 page forward or back from the
current page within a given Chapter. A page number indication is shown below the buttons.
The audio controller has a Play button, a Pause button, a Forward and Reverse increment
buttons, and +/- volume control. Double click on the Play and Pause buttons to activate.
After the clip has been started, a slider knob moves along its track in time with the
clip. You can click and hold the slider to move the audio to a new position along its
track. A user can rollover and single click any of the buttons on the Top Slide or Left
Slide menus. The content margin provides a space for content tips, zoom box interactions,
table links, animation links and user notes. More on the specific functions of these menus
can be found later in this document or in the CD Help.
